Trey Shawn Cowman, 30, of Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, passed away on August 16, 2026, leaving family, friends, and the wider community mourning a deeply felt loss.
Born on September 27, 1995, in Kingston, Trey was the beloved son of Diane Duesler Cowman and the late Shawn Cowman. He grew up surrounded by family and developed a personality known for warmth, humor, and a genuine ability to connect with others.
Trey was a graduate of Wyoming Valley West High School, Class of 2012, where he excelled academically and was a member of the school’s football team. He took pride in contributing to the team’s Eastern Conference Championship victory during his senior year. He later continued his education at Shippensburg University, earning a Bachelor of Business Administration, and went on to receive a Master of Business Administration in Business Analytics from the University of Scranton.
Professionally, Trey worked as a data analyst, most recently with Golden Hippo in Los Angeles. While he was dedicated to his career, those who knew him best remember that his true impact came through his personality, relationships, and the joy he brought to others.
Trey had a remarkable sense of humor and often entertained friends and family with his wit. He dreamed of pursuing stand-up comedy and had a natural ability to turn everyday moments into laughter. His presence made people feel welcomed and appreciated, whether they had known him for years or had just met him.
He was passionate about sports and music, enjoying conversations about teams, statistics, and performances. He remained a loyal fan of the San Francisco 49ers and the Michigan Wolverines. One of his most treasured memories was traveling with his father to watch Michigan win the Big Ten Football Championship in 2023.
Trey also loved attending concerts and music festivals, creating lasting memories with those closest to him. His life was filled with shared experiences, laughter, and meaningful connections.
He was preceded in death by his father, Shawn Cowman, and his brother, Tyler Cowman. He is survived by his mother, Diane; his brother Trevin Cowman and sister-in-law Brittany; extended family; and many friends who affectionately knew him as “Trey Trey.”
Trey’s passing leaves a profound absence, but his legacy of kindness, humor, and the ability to make others feel special will continue to live on in the lives he touched.
He will be remembered with love, deeply missed, and never forgotten.
